I first learned of “Positive Post Tuesday” when blogger Luke Mundy posted a “Positive Post Tuesday” post. Soon after I was seeing “Positive Post Tuesday” posts from blogger Gene Pensiero. The original idea for “Positive Post Tuesday” came from this man. The short and sweet overview of “Postive Post Tuesday” is this: write something encouraging/uplifting about a person in your life.
For my first Postive Post Tuesday post I have decided to write about my brother, Jon.
I’ve known Jon through great times and tragic times. We have laughed together, fought together, and stood against raging storms together. I have witnessed him take on some of life’s most frightening demons and come out standing; and to God he gives all the glory. Strong -like only few others could be- in Faith and absolutely surrendered to the Lord, Jon is an inspiration and easily one of the best friends I have.
He has walked a long and hard road to get to where he is today. Unlike so many of us who have been handed many amazing opportunities, he has earned his way through blood, sweat, and tears. What keeps him going is knowing that he is unable to accomplish the tasks before him on his own, so he relies on the sufficiency and strength of Christ.
Many strong believers I know would have given up on life if they had to walk through the fires that he has. His humor and his unshakeable love for God are what allows him to continue forward even when the world seems to stand united against him.
I have no doubt that God has an amazing plan for Jon’s life which is why the enemy is doing everything possible to discourage him. He has many wonderful things set out before him, and I believe that he will shake lives to their very foundations.
I love my little brother. *hugs*
