It Is What We Do

We’re tired, but we’re pressing forward. It is what we do. We all see it for what it is. Politics, promotions, selfishness, fame, and self-praise, but we also see that there is something so much bigger at stake. Lives that are hurting, broken, and in need of anything we can offer them.

So we do our best to tolerate the crap as we wait with eager anticipation to do something right; maybe for them, but perhaps for us as well. We need it. We need to see what we’re fighting for, and not the empty words of lofty people.

I am here, now. This is not what I asked for, but it is what I have, and so I choose to honor it. I desire to do what is right.

We’re casting our eyes on the world front, ignoring the politicians in and out of uniform, and desiring to simply change lives -even if only our own.

You’re heroes aren’t those adorned in gold or riding in on chariots of fire, they take what is not theirs. It is us, here, now; the work force that rolls up its sleeves and gets the job done. We won’t get the praise, but that’s okay. We got the job done; it is what we do.
