Pay Very Close Attention

By Michael Brewer

Christian, I want you to pay very close attention. Today I read a post that hit very close to home. The writer goes by the handle orDover, and she wrote a post titled My de-conversion: A discovery of deliberate lies. Her essay is the story of her loss of Faith. She tells us of the broken influential and key figures and foundations that were set -or forced- upon her life. She takes us through the journey in which her entire world comes crashing down around her. She reveals the moment she confesses that she doesn’t believe.

If you go to read her story, READ IT COMPLETELY. Not only because she deserves the respect, but because -Christian- she has something to teach us about ourselves, how we present our Faith, and how we proclaim the Gospel. Do not go to nag her, to condemn her, to mock her -at all. Learn from her. Listen to the language she uses. Listen to the words she presents. Let it speak to your heart. Let it challenge you.

Love her, pray for her, but do her no harm.

Christian, she has something to say. Open your heart and your mind and listen. History repeats itself if we don’t listen, so pay very close attention.

  1. Dr. T Says:

I could have been this person. I could easily be this person.

In the inhumanity of it all, Jesus has revealed himself to be the only one with enough mercy and grace to keep me in his grip.

The stupid things I have done as a christian have led me to prefer the title “follower of The Way”.

    This justifies it even more.
