Tokyo. It is our first day here. Fortunately I have duty on the first day, but unfortunately I am stuck on shore patrol. This means that in about an hour I will be getting into uniform and patrolling one of many watch stations effectively baby-sitting grown men and women who can’t behave themselves when no one else is around.
I am prepared -as best I can be- for a very long and frustrating watch. It is the perfect end to a perfect week.
But God has been good. Everything that has come my way I have found the strength to handle and complete. I have been tired and sick, yet with much prayer and seeking after the Lord there has come a strength to take on everything that has landed on these weak shoulders.
After tonight will come a time of rest and recovery, and I will find -hopefully- relief from the phone calls, the constant chatter, and the crisis after crisis mentality of those who spin themselves up for the sake of spinning themselves up.
