Howdy!

WORDPRESS says that our two blogs (at least our most recent posts) are related, so I came by to check you out--I hope you enjoy my slant on the topic. Please stop by my blog and let me know what you think (and if you like it, maybe add Jesus + Compassion to your blog roll so we can stay connected).

God bless you!

Abby,

Thank you for visiting. I deeply appreciate your response.

It is difficult, to say the least, to know where is the line. When do you assert yourself -lovingly-, when do you recognize the issue as a futile striving, and when do you simply pray for your brother or sister. Some issues are grey areas that we will be contending over until Kingdom Come.

Then there are other areas which are cornerstones of our Faith (resurrection of Christ, Deity and Humanity of Christ, virgin Birth, propitiation of Sins, Grace, etc.) which we should stand firmly behind -not giving one inch on the matter. But how we deal with those issues comes back exactly to what you said. Sometimes we must be vocal on the matter, other times it is not appropriate so we wait for the appropriate moment, and sometimes the individual is so out there we can only pray for him or her and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There is a lot to consider in your response. Thank you very much, Abby. I hope to hear from you again, and I look forward to visiting your blog soon.

Blessings,

Michael

Michael, First of all, good questions. I always appreciate fellow Christians interested in investigating contridictions and unanswered questions...even if answers can never really be discovered.
Q#1: I don't believe peaceful co-existence should always be the goal. I sometimes feel like a coward or a hypacrite for not being more vocal about my beliefs and my faith when I should have. However there are certain circumstances when confrontation doesn't seen appropriate. Like when I'm at work, I'll avoid an argument with a co-worker it just makes life at work easier when you get along with people, right? On the other hand, life at work shouldn't be priority over life in Christ! (I guess that's another blog for another day.) Other times I try to keep my mouth shut is when I don't think there's anything more I could say that would make a difference. That is to say, the other person's belief or assertion is so deeply rooted that it is evident the best thing I can do is pray for him. Pray for God to change his heart or at least open his mind to hear other ideas. Of course, this can be kind of tricky because even if it seems God can only change them, your words may be planting seeds for God... So, I guess you should say what's on your heart and your mind while being mindful that in the end only God can TRULY change any of us.

I have more to say about the other questions and I plan to revisit them soon.

Thanks, Abby

I read this earlier this morning. I find it amazing. I can't quite find a proper response except for Amen.

It's pretty awesome that God has made us his own. We didn't deserve it over anyone else. We probably deserve it less than everyone else. But God did it. God is amazing.

On the day of judgment, when the coming one returns, we will only be able to boast in Him and not ourselves.
